We’ve come a long way since 1946! From blinds and shades to a complete home decorating center, including window treatments (blinds, draperies), bedroom ensembles, upholstery and a complete design service. And we are still servicing your storm window and door needs.

Seymour Lapidus started the business in 1946 in Red Bank, NJ, fixing Venetian blinds as “The Mobile Venetian Blind Company.” In 1949, the business moved to Long Branch with a shop on Liberty Street. Then, after a time uptown, Seymour opened the current location in 1974. Sales of blinds, shades and aluminum products characterized the business during this period.

After joining the business in 1984, daughter Holly introduced more of an interior design emphasis that included custom decorating, draperies, window treatments of all kinds, bedroom ensembles, shutters, custom fabrics and upholstery.

We are still here, growing, improving and ready to serve your decorating needs. Come visit us soon!

New Jersey’s highly successful Urban Enterprise (UEZ) Program was enacted in 1983. As of October 2008, it is part of the Department of Community Affairs. The UEZ Program was created to foster an economic climate that revitalizes designated urban communities and stimulates their growth by encouraging businesses to develop and create private sector jobs through public and private investment.
